Begur Wildlife Sanctuary

Begur Wildlife Sanctuary is located about 20 km Wayanad town. The sanctuary is situated at a place called Mananthavady, which is near the Western Ghats in Wayanad district of Kerala. The sanctuary is located amidst a thick forest cover, which enhances the beauty and charm of the place. Trees of this sanctuary are known for their rare medicinal values. Hence, the forest is visited by a number of pharmaceutical companies, for the purpose of research. Other common plants and vegetation found in Begur Wildlife Sanctuary are Teak, Eucalyptus and Grevelia plantation along with Maruthi, Karimaruthi, Rosewood, Venteak, Vengal, Chadachi, Mazhukanjiram and Bamboo etc.
